Long-term disability (LTD) coverage provides monthly income protection if you become totally disabled under the terms of the policy, and are unable to work for an extended period of time. LTD pays a monthly benefit after you have been totally disabled for six months and are approved by Reliance Standard Insurance Company. If you do not enroll when you are first eligible for LTD coverage, when you do enroll, you will be required to submit an Evidence of Insurability form and be approved for coverage. LTD coverage also allows you to participate in Reliance Standard’s 24-Hour Travel Assistance Service (English/Spanish) and Identity Theft Recovery Services.
